Attaching 2 Plastic Sheets

Attach the plastic along the ceiling by pressing thumbtacks through it and into the ceiling at the rate of one every foot or so.

Attaching the second sheet step 1. I am making a craft project. Using the low setting on my heat gun gently heat up the two sheets till they get tacky. When you finish remove the thumbtacks and fill in the holes with tiny dots of putty that match the ceiling color.

For lightweight plastic you may be able to use fewer tacks. To join two plastic sheets the sheets can either be glued preferably with a good epoxy or fused together. I need a glue that will hold water inside. There are several ways to safely seal plastic sheets so nothing can seep through the seams but duct tape is a simple practical and inexpensive way to seal two or more plastic sheets for your home project.

Then apply heat again. I cut two 6 x6 pieces and glued them with a water resistant glue. If the actual composition of the plastic is unknown an epoxy is the best choice as it will survive longer than the plastic sheets themselves. Covering objects step 1 repeat steps 2.

I went to a craft store and purchased a yard of plastic in the fabric dept. Repeat sections 1 and 2 for as many sheets as necessary. Rob shows a clip of plastic laminating where heat fuses plastic to paper. I then put water inside and a few hrs later noticed it was soaking through the plastic and leaking.

Step 1 clean the two pieces of plastic to be epoxied together.
